Discover Saint John is the official Destination Marketing Organization for Saint John. We are a not-for-profit public-private corporation created in partnership with the City of Saint John, the Saint John Hotel Association and our Industry Members.
Our mission is to increase tourism revenues in Saint John by marketing our unique and competitive tourism experiences to high-potential markets.
Victoria Clarke Executive Director
Victoria leads the implementation of the corporation’s strategic plan and provides senior direction for sales and marketing activities. In addition to being the corporate liaison with the City of Saint John and the Saint John Hotel Association, and working closely with other Saint John economic development agencies, Victoria is a member of the Destination Marketing Association of Canada, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada and SKAL International.
Jillian MacKinnon Marketing & Communications Director
Jillian leads the development of strategic marketing programs and partnerships to promote the destination to key sectors as well as manages travel media relations – hosting press trips, pitching stories, itinerary development and attending media marketplaces. Jillian also directs the content strategy for social media and the corporate website in addition to acting as a steward for the corporate voice and liaising with local media.
Darcy LeBlanc Festivals & Events Manager
Darcy works with new, and existing, festivals and events to further enhance Saint John’s brand as a premiere destination in Atlantic Canada. Darcy provides continued input toward improving festival and event activities, appearance and total guest experience. This includes liaising and advocating with local organizations for funding to bring special events to Saint John that will raise awareness of the city nationally/internationally for economic impact overall.
Shawnna Dickie-Garnhum Meetings & Conventions Sales Manager
Shawnna leads our efforts to promote Saint John as a national conventions & meetings destination. This involves lead generation, tradeshows, familiarization trips, site visits, strategic planning, promotions and sales missions. Shawnna is a member of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE), Meeting Professionals International (MPI Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter), Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners (CanSPEP), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).
Shanna Hopkins Sport Tourism Manager
Shanna brings over 10 years of professional sport administration experience the field of event management and community relations. Shanna collaborates with local, provincial and national sport organizations to identify, and bid on, major tournaments and events for Saint John to host. Shanna is an active member of the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA).
Marcy Barnes Administration & Member Relations Manager Travel Trade Sales
Marcy is responsible for office management and administration (key contact for accounting, contracts and RFPs), overseeing project budgeting, KPI reporting and CRM administration as well as membership sales and relationship management and the execution of our our social media content strategy. Marcy also leads our sales efforts to attract new Travel Trade business to Saint John including itinerary development, marketplaces and familiarization tours.
Jen Silliphant Visitor Experience Manager
Jen manages our visitor experience program which includes the municipal visitor information centres, and additional visitor touch-points — electronic kiosks, brochure racks, online chat and delegate welcomes. All visitor collateral, including the Official Saint John Visitor Guide, City Map and the historic and public art walking tours, is developed in the visitor experience program.
Joanna Beckett Visitor Information Centre (VIC) Coordinator
Joanna oversees the day-to-day operations of the visitor information centres, supervising and scheduling staff, information counselling, literature distribution and statistics tracking and reporting. Joanna is also the contact for our online events calendar.
