Harbour Station 20 Years Proud
Since opening its doors on Oct. 2, 1993, Harbour Station has become the region’s centerpiece for sporting and entertainment events. With a population of more than 400,000 within a two-hour radius, Harbour Station is able to attract a diversity of world-class entertainment and sporting events, including a number of national and world competitions.
It is also home of the 2011 Memorial Cup champion Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Saint John Mill Rats of the National Basketball League of Canada.
Harbour Station was constructed so it would have the flexibility to host a wide variety of events in a multitude of configurations. With 6,200 permanent seats and additional portable seating bringing the total to near 8,000, the facility is sized to accommodate the requirements of almost any performer. Removable seats and hockey dasher boards enable the facility to be transformed into the largest show floor in Atlantic Canada with 50,000 sq ft of unobstructed floor space on the main level plus an additional 28,000 sq ft on the concourse level. The technical capabilities are second to none in Eastern Canada.
Located in Saint John’s downtown core, one of Harbour Station’s greatest assets has become its connection to many nearby amenities via indoor walkways. The “Inside Connection” links the facility to hotels, shopping, restaurants, bars and indoor parking – all within easy walking distance. Performers and patrons alike can be assured of a first-class and memorable experience when they visit Harbour Station – the Entertainment Centre of Atlantic Canada.
