Hike or paddle – Rocks of ages
Enjoy either a guided kayak adventure or a guided hiking adventure along the shores of the historic St. John River and experience the “rocks of ages” with Go Fundy Events.
Paddle an Ice Age river where 15,000 years ago, the last glacier forced the river to find a new route over the rock ridge at the Reversing Rapids. Experience an historic lime quarry with 850 million year old marble and the first documented Precambrian fossil described in scientific literature. Photo opportunities abound as you pause to view an historic lighthouse and local wildlife including an active bald eagles nest.
Take part in a guided interpretative hike along the shores of the historic St. John River, and experience the “rocks of ages” at the historic Green Head lime quarry, viewing the remains of built structures and quarries that were once one of the last lime kiln operations in southern New Brunswick.
