Located outside Market Square, Ihtoli-maqahamok – The Gathering Space, is rooted in three foundations of Saint John: the people, the water, and the rocks, and is a significant landmark and a place of togetherness. Featuring indoor/outdoor patios, tidal steps, and outdoor public spaces including a stage for concerts, film screenings, and other special events, and in the winter, an outdoor skating rink.

This territory is covered by Peace and Friendship Treaties signed with the British Crown in the 1700s.
