February 29, 2024

In partnership with the Uptown Saint John BIA.

Whether your littles are off school for the week and you want to find family-friendly activities, or you’re just looking for an excuse to take a pause from a busy work schedule, Uptown Saint John has plenty of opportunities for entertainment all March Break long!

Looking for activities to inspire your child during their time off? There are workshops throughout uptown that are sure to spark their creative side and teach them a new skill at the same time.

Check out the Florida Parks Hop workshop at The Sewist – spend a fun day pretending you are going to Disney World, Universal Studios, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter by sewing up some fun park-themed merch. Learn more here.

Learn with Brilliant Labs during their 4-day Brilliant Camp, featuring biomaking, robotics, and more! Learn more here.

Discover a Smorgasbord of fun at the Saint John Free Public Library.

Spend quality family time together uptown over the March Break!

Book a room at Hilton Saint John or Delta Hotels by Marriott Saint John for some stay-cation or bay-cation fun. Plan to spend a night with the Saint John Sea Dogs at one of their home games. Visit the Canada Games Aquatic Centre for one of their fun or leisure swims. Check out the Imperial Theatre’s free afternoon movie, Ice Age or get your tickets to see Mini Pop Kids Live: The Good Vibes Tour. Test your skills at Woodchucks Axe Throwing (for ages 12+). Head to Heroes Beacon to check out their gaming lounge, with over 100 games available in their library - perfect for some afternoon fun!

Spend an afternoon or two exploring the shops of uptown. Stores like Paddington Station, Obscurity Shop, The Feel Good Store, and Urban Shoe Myth have clothing, shoes, and specialty items that will interest all ages.

Introduce your young ones to uptown art by exploring all the uptown galleries or taking in the self-guided Art in Public Places Walking Tour. Or learn about Saint John’s storied history with a self-guided Historic Walking Tour.

Share a meal together at any of our uptown restaurants. Get your brunch on at Cora’s. Grab a sweet treat from the Freak Lunchbox, Wild Flours Sweets & Treats, or the Sugar Spider. Try something new from Ta-Ke Sushi or Pink Sushi. Have your choice of chicken or tacos from Barred Rock Chicken & Poutine or Toro Taco in Market Square. Explore the tastes of the Saint John City Market from vendors like Sagrati’s, Slocum & Ferris, or Kim’s Korean Food.

March Break doesn’t have to be just for the kids. It is also the perfect excuse to get a sitter for a night and have a parents’ night out on the town.

Grab a brew and take in some live music at a bar uptown, like Wasted Day Brewing or O’Leary’s Pub. Create your own bar crawl to enjoy the 2nd Annual KV Brewskis & Frostbites. Enjoy a classy night at the Imperial Theatre with David Myles or Symphony New Brunswick. Have a romantic dinner at Port City Royal or Italian By Night.

Whatever your plans this March Break, make uptown Saint John part of it!
