What's Your Reason? A New Home in #SJTownsByTheBay

September 13, 2022

As part of our 500 Reasons to Discover Saint John & the Towns by the Bay Giveaway, we're featuring YOUR reasons for making #SJTownsByTheBay your bay-cation or stay-cation destination!

Our week nine winner is Jamie Forrest, whose family recently moved to the region:

Jamie shares:

We recently moved to the Saint John area (Hampton) with our 4 boys and Great Dane Ruby! We haven't been able to discover Saint John much so far and would love the chance to do so.

Prior to Hampton, we lived in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia. We had been trying to buy a home in Nova Scotia for a while and with the craziness of the market, it just wasn't working out. My husband had some flexibility with work as to where he could move, so we decided to look at New Brunswick. We found a great realtor (Kaitlin Campbell!) in the area and she helped us find and buy our home in Hampton.

And, we absolutely love it! The community has been so friendly and welcoming, and the town itself offers so much for the kids!

As a family, we love getting out and exploring our new town; the Kennebecasis River, Dutch Point Trail, and Snow's Ice Cream have become favourites. My husband and 2 oldest boys love riding dirt bikes. We love camping and beach days in the summer, and we're always up for a good family movie night!

We are really looking forward to everything Saint John & the Towns by the Bay has to offer. We're excited to be able to live in a small town and still have a city so close. We had a chance to take in Area 506 and loved it, and look forward to exploring more!

Congratulations Jamie! We hope your prize winnings give you and your family even more reasons to Discover Saint John & the Towns By The Bay.
